OUR AIM: TO GIVE ANY CHILD THE OPPORTUNITY TO START THEIR MUSICAL JOURNEY WITH DRUMMING

As an instrument, the drums often get perceived to be “not a proper instrument.” Cost, space, lack of equipment and volume are all factors which effect a child’s ability to take up drumming whether it’s at home or in their school setting. Here at Dorset Drum School we aim to provide effective answers to all these factors and ensure that every child that wishes to start drumming will have the means to do so.

Why drumming?

Studies have shown that drumming:

Relieves Anxiety & Depression

Increases Confidence

Increases IQ

Strengthens Motor Skills

Counts as Exercise

Enhances Immune System

Encourages Friendships

Furthermore, children benefit from enhancing the following needs:

Social

Communication

Fine and Gross Motor Skills

Emotional

Cognitive

Space & Sound

Does your school/home have minimal storage space? Worried about classes or your neighbours? Don’t worry. Dorset Drum School are able to provide acoustic and electric drum kits to combat these issues. We have a selection of drums available to suit all ages ranging in size.

What does it cost?

Buying a drum kit can be a costly investment, especially if you are unsure if your child is going to “stick” with it. Dorset Drum School provide a rental service tailored to your budget which avoids the initial start up cost. We offer half termly, termly and yearly rental packages that won’t break the bank but will provide you with all the tools you need to get started.

HALF TERM - From £25        TERM - From £50        YEAR - From £120

Dorset Drum School are always looking to expand our instrument library. If you or anyone you know have any old drums, cymbals or stands that need a bit of TLC, please contact us. All our equipment requires maintenance (screws, cymbal felts, heads etc) so if you would like to make a donation please visit our GoFundMe page HERE. Any donation is always hugely appreciated and helps keep this service alive.
